The well is deep with water
The well is deep my son
The hills of green and luster
The glades of gold are spun

Our prayers are in the seedlings
Our dreams are in the sun
To the gates of Eden reaching
'Til the harvest moon has come

Oh sins of greed and luster
Sins of sloth and shame
Abound themselves
In infidels
As the tule to the rain

But a fairer day awaits you
When the lion shall lay down
For the son of a bootlegger's daughter
Who was lost but now is found

The well is deep with water
The well is deep my son
The hills of green and luster
The glades of gold are spun
